THE TONEHOLE LAYOUTMy independent fingering system allows the toneholes to be arranged in an evenly graduated fashion - the toneholes are located on the respective nodes of the horn's tonal spectrum. This layout produces the best tone and intonation. The result is an impressive clear and open tone throughout the range of the instrument.
In contrast - the tonehole layout used on conventional horns is uneven and compromised in order to accomodate the tuning difficulties created by the interlinkages of the Boehm fingering system. This is why conventional horns have some notes that sound better or worse than others.
